POSITION OVERVIEW: 
The Director of New Center Operations partners with new and existing franchise owners to successfully open and grow new KidStrong Centers across US and Canada. This position plays a critical role with franchisees and leads a team of Development Specialists who are responsible for the successful construction, staffing, marketing, member development, and training necessary to open prepared and profitable KidStrong centers.

This role reports to the Vice President of Operations and is accountable for opening new centers to achieve annual development and financial budgets. The leader is a key contact for the franchisees and collaborates with all support teams at HQ including leadership, marketing, accounting, training, sales and external vendors to ensure franchisee success. This position helps franchisees to open and stabilize centers by removing obstacles and advising on financial and operational metrics.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: 
  • Partner with the Franchise Development Team and other stakeholders to onboard and help franchisees open Centers
  • Create and maintain project documents, including AIA agreements, vendor contracts, landlord work letters, surveys, assessments and construction drawings.
  • Lead a team responsible for managing milestones necessary to open a new center, inclusive of business requirements, design, construction & equipment delivery, staffing/training, sales and marketing
  • Ensure NCO teams are staffed and trained on all aspects of the new center opening process
  • Ensure timeline decision making and guidance on critical path milestones including: facilities/equipment milestones, staffing and training milestones, member acquisition goals
  • Early identification of “risks” that could impact NCO project timelines and formulation of mitigation strategies cross functionally and with immediate team members
  • Monitor and perform within agreed upon KPI targets including: overall NCO intervals/timeline, equipment ordering/delivery, staffing/training, and attainment of membership objectives during the pre-sale phase of the new center opening process.
WHO YOU ARE:
You are a smart and eager contributor who enjoys building relationships and solving problems. You have a bias for action, thrive in a coaching culture, and are comfortable giving and receiving direct communication. You have: 
  • Strong EQ and ability to communicate with confidence and clarity to new and existing franchise partners and area developers
  • Experience and progressive knowledge in the field of fitness studio/center design
  • Experience opening new franchise units in a membership driven business model where pre-sales is a critical component of the opening process
  • Experience working in a franchise system, consulting with franchisees throughout the construction and membership pre-sale process
  • A strong understanding of construction documents, including drawings, submittals, permits, safety, change orders, RFIs, ASIs, etc.
  • The ability to multitask, manage multiple center development projects simultaneously, guide team priorities, and make data driven decisions to achieve development and financial goals
  • Proven ability to work independently on all aspects of center design, deployment, and fulfillment
  • Excellent judgment, decision-making abilities, and problem-solving skills
